Dear Campus Community:
The new sciences complex is an exciting project for our campus and will bring many benefits to our students and programs in the long term. In the short term, we need to modify pedestrian and vehicular traffic paths and parking designations to accommodate the construction.
Two maps are linked below to assist you in navigating the eastern part of campus in the construction area and in finding appropriate parking for your designation (employee, resident student, commuting student). Residential parking permits are designated by zone. Campus residents housed within a particular zone will only be permitted to park in unreserved resident lots within that zone.
1. Campus parking changes map - August 2010
http://www.oswego.edu/about/visit/maps/parkingmap.html
Parking lots are closing within the construction area. This map illustrates the new residential student parking zones and reconfiguration and redesignation of parking assignments. (This map will be superseded by University Police's official campus Parking Map and Rules and Regulations, due to be released before Aug. 30.)
CLOSED PARKING LOTS:
Lot #26 (Takamine diagonal)
Lot #28 (between Piez and Wilber)
Lee south
Piez north
REDESIGNATED PARKING LOTS:
Lot #8 (Snygg east) Employee Parking - see below
Lot #23 (Rich lot) Employee/Commuter Parking
Lot #1 (north of Penfield) Employee/Resident Parking
Lot #18 (Hart south) Employee/Commuter Parking
2. Detailed map for construction area, Snygg lot east (#8)
http://www.oswego.edu/about/visit/maps/construction.html
A fence will divide the roadway from the parking area in Lot #8 (Snygg east). The roadway will be one way going south for faculty and staff, and two way for construction vehicles. Faculty and staff may enter the lot from Washington Boulevard and exit at the other end onto Takamine Street alongside Wilber Hall or use the roadway to exit south onto Washington Boulevard. Construction traffic will enter and exit only from Washington Boulevard.
Also this fall, an enhanced shuttle schedule, known as the new Green Route will be offered. The Green Route is a continuous express shuttle loop stopping at Lot #7 (Romney lot), Sheldon Hall and the Campus Center only.
We hope this notice clarifies these changes for you, but please call if you have questions. We would like to minimize inconvenience for everyone as this project proceeds.
Please join us for the groundbreaking festivities scheduled for Sept. 17. And best wishes for a successful fall semester!
