If you have been sexually assaulted . . .
- Go to a safe place and contact someone you trust to be with you.
- Contact the Counseling Services Center to help you deal with the consequences of the assault.
- Contact the Health Center to be examined and evaluated for the risk of pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. If possible, do not shower, bathe, douche, or destroy any of the clothing you were wearing at the time of the assault. Do not disturb anything in the area where the assault occurred, so that the area may be examined.
- Write down what happened and file this statement with the University Police and/or the Office of Judicial Affairs. Be sure to include the identity of the person who assaulted you (if known) and the circumstances of the assault.
- If you are a resident hall student, consider contacting your Hall Director or Resident Assistant who can often provide valuable support to students.
