Theatre Department
The Department of Theatre at the State University of New York at Oswego seeks a dynamic, collaborative educator/designer for a tenure track Assistant Professor position.

Salary: Commensurate with rank and experience
Date of Appointment: August 26, 2013
Description of Responsibilities: Teach courses in Scene Design, Lighting Design, Introduction to Theatre Design, Scene Painting, Introduction to Theatre and courses in additional areas of expertise. The candidate will be responsible for scenic and property design and scene painting for two to three main stage productions per year and will share lighting design responsibilities. Participation in mentoring, advising, and recruiting is expected.
Required Qualifications: MFA in scene design with secondary emphasis in lighting design. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in production, scene and lighting design, potential for teaching excellence, the ability to collaborate successfully with students, faculty and staff, and a commitment to the promotion of students' ability to succeed in a multicultural and global community. An ability to work, communicate, and maintain knowledge in current software and technology is also required. Final candidates must provide portfolio of their work for review.
Preferred Qualifications: Successful teaching and mentorship at the university level and a working knowledge of current theatrical design practices.

Description of Department: The Theatre Department is an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Theatre and offers a major leading to a BA in Theatre with concentrations in Acting/Directing, Design/Technical Theatre, and History/Criticism. The program provides students with the knowledge and skills to prepare for a career in the theatre and its related fields through a combination of academic and production experiences.
