Assistant Professor

The Department of Technology at the State University of New York at Oswego announces an opening for a tenure track Assistant Professor position.

Review Date:  Review of applications will begin on October 15, 2012, and will continue until the position is filled.

Salary:  Commensurate with rank and experience.

Description of Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

• Teach laboratory courses in areas that may include construction technologies, materials technologies, sustainable energy technologies, and technology management depending on the candidate's technical area(s) of expertise.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate professional technology management courses.  Supervise technology management internship and co-op placements.
• Provide leadership with developing and delivering technology programs that promote STEM integration, global awareness, sustainability, and diversity.
• Assume responsibilities for laboratory management.
• Initiate, develop, and participate in business, industry, and college partnerships.
• Provide academic advisement for undergraduate and graduate students.
• Participate in department, school, and college service.
• Commit to research and scholarship in Technology Management.

Required Qualifications:

• MS in Technology Education, Technology Management or a closely related field with significant technology management experience in manufacturing or facilities design and management.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty and students.
• Demonstrated commitment to preparing students for multicultural and global communities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or Ed.D. from an accredited university in Technology Education, Technology Management, or a closely related field.

• Leadership experience in technology management.
• Postsecondary teaching experience.
