Sociology Department
The Department of Sociology at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Sociology with a specialty in Globalization.
Review Date: Review of applications will begin November 1, 2012 and will continue until the position is filled
Salary: Commensurate with rank and experience.
Date of Appointment: August 26, 2013
Description of Responsibilities: Successful applicant will be required to teach courses such as Globalization and Poverty, The Changing Modern Family, Social Change and Development, Prejudice and Discrimination, Introduction to Sociology, and other globalization related courses reflecting the successful candidate's specialization. Further, the person hired for this position would collaborate with Extended Learning and Graduate studies to enhance and expand current offerings.
Required Qualifications: Advanced ABD or Ph.D. in Sociology or related field with a specialty in Globalization and recent teaching experience at the college level. Applicants must be committed to excellence in teaching, be engaged in an active program of research, and be committed to contributing to student internships and preparing students for the global community.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Sociology at the time of appointment
