Multiple vacancies anticipated for the 2013-2014 academic year

The Department of Residence Life and Housing at SUNY Oswego is seeking qualified applicants for our Assistant Hall Director (AHD) position; this is a live-in, half-time Graduate Assistantship. The AHD is responsible for assisting the Residence Hall Director in assuring the successful functioning of the residence hall as an educational environment consistent with the academic and educational mission of the College. Specific duties include supervising the reception desk and recycling operations in the assigned residence hall, including supervision of undergraduate student staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree and matriculation into a SUNY Oswego Graduate Program by August 1, 2013, required. Preferred candidates will demonstrate an understanding of the co-academic mission of a residence life program.

COMPENSATION

Compensation includes a $7000 annual stipend and tuition assistance for six (6) credits for the first semester of employment and nine (9) credits per semester thereafter. Health insurance is also available through the Graduate Assistant Union. A furnished one-bedroom apartment is provided with parking; occupancy of the apartment is for the term of employment. A full meal plan is provided for the AHD and his/her spouse/qualifying domestic partner (subject to annual budgeting approval) when classes are in session during the fall and spring academic semesters.
