Psychology Department
The Department of Psychology at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for two one-year, full-time temporary Visiting Assistant Professor positions.
Review Date: Review of applications will begin January 5, 2012 and will continue until the position is filled.
Salary: Commensurate with rank and experience
Date of Appointment: August, 2012
Description of Responsibilities: Teaching core courses (research methods, or psychological statistics and/or introductory psychology, etc.) and possible electives. Position includes advisement and service responsibilities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates with A.B.D. in Psychology with evidence of potential for teaching excellence, applying technology to teaching and the ability to develop/infuse a multicultural perspective into the curriculum.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Psychology

Description of Department: The department has a BA program in Psychology with over 500 students and 15 full-time faculty. The department also contributes to interdisciplinary programs including Cognitive Science, Linguistics, Philosophy/Psychology, and Public Justice Majors, a 5 year BA/MBA program, and a graduate program in Human-Computer Interaction. Faculty have federal funding for longitudinal research programs in human development and neurobehavioral toxicology. The department is committed to excellence in undergraduate research and supports the McNair Program.
