The Department of Psychology at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position.

Review Date:  Review of applications will begin November 1, 2012 and will continue until the position is filled.

Salary:  Commensurate with rank and experience

Date of Appointment:  August 26, 2013 

Description of Responsibilities: Teaching includes introductory abnormal psychology, research methods, and advanced abnormal psychology courses that serve the graduate certificate program in Trauma Studies.  Position also includes an active research program, advisement and service responsibilities. 

Required Qualifications:  Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology.  Outstanding ABD candidates will also be considered (Ph.D. required by time of appointment.)  Eligible for licensure in New York.  Able to supervise internships/field placements for the graduate certificate program in Trauma Studies.  

Preferred Qualifications:  Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical with teaching experience, and also evidence of the potential to involve undergraduate students into an ongoing program of research.

Description of Department:  The department has a B.A. program with over 600 students and 14 full-time faculty, who have been awarded multiple grants from agencies such as the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) and the Institute of Education Sciences (IES).  The department contributes to interdisciplinary programs that include Cognitive Science, a 5-year B.A./M.B.A. program, a graduate program in Human-Computer Interaction, and a new graduate certificate in Trauma Studies. The department is committed to excellence in undergraduate and graduate research.
