The Department of Political Science at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position.

Salary: Commensurate with rank and experience.

Description of Responsibilities: We are looking for a broadly trained political scientist who can teach a range of courses in American politics and public policy. We seek individuals who are committed to interdisciplinarity, have a strong interest and desire to work with students from diverse backgrounds, and can promote students' ability to succeed in a global community. Successful candidates also will be expected to assist with student advising, engage in department and university service, and pursue a significant program of scholarship.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or ABD (with Ph.D. completed by time of appointment).
Preferred Qualifications: PhD with teaching experience and potential for strong scholarship.

Description of Department: The political science program at Oswego provides students with a broad understanding of politics in the current world context of continuity and change. We are a small, seven-person department that values a diversity of historical, interpretive, critical, and interdisciplinary approaches to the study of politics. The political science major at Oswego also recognizes that the contemporary political world is global, consisting of deepening interdependence among nations and regions, as well as a mélange of cultures and political systems.
