Music Department
The Department of Music at the State University of New York at Oswego announces the opening of a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position entails a full-time, ten-month contract beginning August 2013.

Salary: Commensurate with rank and experience
Date of Appointment: August 26, 2013
Description of Responsibilities: Direct three choral ensembles (large undergraduate choir, select chamber/jazz ensemble, large college/community chorus). Additional teaching areas as needed by department may include: applied voice, basic music theory or aural skills, methods courses in choral repertoire and/or rehearsal techniques, or musical direction for musical theatre productions.
Required Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Music. ABD considered. Significant professional experience and/or prior university teaching experience needed. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective teaching including engagement of students, knowledge of voice, effective rehearsal techniques and appropriate repertoire selection. Documented experience as an excellent conductor and recruiter of students (program building) is also needed.
Other Preferred Qualifications: Strong background in Music Education and ability to promote student success in a multicultural and global community a plus.
