The Department of Marketing and Management at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Master's of Business Administration in Health Services Administration Program.

Review Date:  Review of applications will begin February 1, 2013, and will continue until the position is filled. 

Salary:  Commensurate with rank and experience.

Date of Appointment:  August 2013

Description of Responsibilities:  The successful candidate will teach health service administration courses and serve as the MBA-HSA Program Coordinator.  This is a new program that will be offered primarily online. Teaching assignments will include one or more of the following: Healthcare Systems in the US, Legal Issues in Healthcare, Managerial Epidemiology, Health Policy, Health Economics, Financial Management in Health Services Organizations, Health Leadership, Physician Practice Management or Nursing Home Administration.  The MBA-HSA coordinator will teach two courses per semester.

The coordinator will have primary responsibility for program management, student academic and professional mentoring, student internships, chairing the MBA-HSA Advisory Group, marketing the program, and serving as a liaison with regional health care organizations. In addition, the successful candidate will participate in departmental and college service, and engage in professional activity. 

Required Qualifications:  Complete Ph.D. in Health Administration or a related field from an accredited institution is required. ABDs with degree completion by May 2014 will be considered.  Scholarly activity consistent with Oswego's AACSB graduate faculty requirements is expected. 

Preferred Qualifications:  Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, research, community service, and external funding is preferred; as is managerial experience in health administration or service as a program coordinator.  The successful candidate should have experience with distance learning.

Description of Department:  The Master's of Business Administration in Health Services Administration Program is housed in the Marketing and Management Department of SUNY-Oswego's School of Business. The School of Business is a fully accredited member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.  This new Program will be based in the College's Metro Center located in mid-town Syracuse in close proximity to the major providers of healthcare in central New York State.
