The Division of Extended Learning at the State University of New York at Oswego announces the opening for a contract trainer for Microsoft Office Software.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Microsoft Office Instructor to deliver training in Microsoft Office (Windows, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access); must be able to deliver instruction in MS Office 2003, 2007 and 2010.
  • Deliver training in Access and a demonstrated ability to develop student skill in how to design, create and work with databases including how to:  work with tables, fields, and records; sort and filter data; create queries, forms, and reports; set field properties and data entry rules; normalize data; work with Lookup fields and subdatasheets.
  • Create join queries; add objects to forms, print reports and labels; create and modify charts; manage table relationships, and enforce referential integrity; calculated fields, and summary values; add objects to forms and create advanced form types; use PivotTables and PivotCharts; create crosstab, parameter, and action queries.
  • Create macros; import, export, and link database objects; work with Windows SharePoint Services; optimize, split, and back up databases; password-protect and encrypt databases; import, export, and link database objects; set Access options and properties; create hyperlink fields; and use Outlook to update data.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and delivering Microsoft training.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Access.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and troubleshoot software problems.
  • Demonstrated teaching, training, or staff development experience.
  • Demonstrated written, presentation, and personal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel, and work evening and weekends as required.
