The Department of Communication Studies at the State University of New York College at Oswego invites applications for a three-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Digital and Broadcast Media Production.

Description of Responsibilities: Candidate will teach a variety of courses in the areas of broadcast media & video production including Intro to Video Production, Advanced TV Production, Electronic Field Production as well as other production-related classes within their specialty area. Other responsibilities include participation in the management of department media services and operations, student advisement, and participation in service activities.
Required Qualifications: Candidate must have an earned advanced degree in broadcast communication, mass communication or an appropriate related field at the time of appointment. Candidate must have either a minimum of 3 years previous undergraduate teaching experience or a minimum of 5 years professional experience in video production/post production. Proficiency in field and studio (multi-camera) production, post-production including NLE system Final Cut Pro 7 (and other FCP Studio software), new media formats, work-flows and distribution types and the ability to teach both introductory and advance video production courses are also essential.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Avid Media Composer, After Effects, Premiere and other post-production software. Ability to incorporate issues of gender, race/ethnicity, and/or comparative global perspectives into course materials, as well as interest in teaching a diverse population of students.

Description of the Department: Communication Studies is the largest department in the School of Communication, Media and the Arts, serving approximately 800 majors with 36 full and part-time faculty. The department offers majors in public relations, broadcasting, communication studies, and journalism. We also offer an online degree completion program in Broadcasting and Mass Communication and a graduate certificate program in Integrated Media.
