W-2 Information (Faculty and Staff)
All W-2 Wage and Tax Statements are mailed to the University from the Department of the Treasury in Albany. All W-2's for active faculty and staff are packaged by the Payroll Office and sent to the individual departments in the same manner as paychecks are. If you are not on campus, and have your checks regularly mailed, then your W-2 will also be mailed. Any employee with a special pickup or mailing request should notify the Payroll Office in writing before December 31st of each year. Please make sure that if you are requesting your W-2 be mailed, that the Payroll Office has your correct address on file. Any employees who are inactive or no longer working for the University, will have their W-2's mailed to their home address, or to the last address we have on record for them. Please make sure prior to leaving employment with the University, that your forwarding address be updated with the Payroll Office to insure that your W-2 is mailed to the correct address.
W-2 Information (Student Assistants)
As is the case with the faculty and staff W-2's, all Student Assistant W-2's are mailed to the University from the Department of the Treasury in Albany. All active and inactive student's W-2's are automaticly mailed to the home address we have on file. Any Student Assistant wishing to pick up their W-2 in person, or to have it mailed to a different location, should notify the Payroll Office in writing prior to December 31st of each year.
Reissuing W-2's
Any employee (staff and students) wishing to have a W-2 reissued for whatever reason (lost, misplaced, refiling, audit), needs to either call the Payroll Office at (315) 312-2227 or (315) 312-3641, or submit the request in writing to the Payroll Office. W-2's can usually be reissued in 24 to 48 hours from the time the request was made, depending on the volume of requests. There is a $4.00 charge to have a W-2 reissued.
