The Division of Continuing Education at the State University of New York at Oswego announces the opening of a Marketing Coordinator position.
Review Date: Review of applications will begin December 3, 2007 and will continue until the position is filled.
Salary: $45,000
Date of Appointment: January 2008
Description of Responsibilities:
- Coordinate marketing activities for the Division of Continuing Education credit and non-credit undergraduate and graduate programs, including off-campus facilities
- Research and recommend media strategies
- Research and implement media opportunities
- Prepare media kits and news releases
- Liaison with media contacts and production firms
- Collaborate with the Office of Graduate Studies & Research
- Liaison with the Office of Business and Community Relations
- Liaison with and participate in meetings with the Office of Public Affairs
- Liaison with the Division and college webmasters for online promotional materials
- Coordinate and staff business shows and trade shows as appropriate to represent SUNY Oswego
- Coordinate the Division’s planned newsletter
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of marketing or public relations experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of creative functions, media deadlines, and media production issues.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree

Description of Department: The Division of Continuing Education offers a variety of courses and programs, both credit bearing and non-credit bearing. Courses are offered on a part-time basis on and off-campus and online. Courses may range from a week's duration to several weeks. We offer high-quality, innovative learning opportunities to a diverse student population, and we are committed to helping students and professionals achieve their educational goals.
The staff in Continuing Education currently provide services at the lakeside campus, the Oswego State Education Center in Phoenix, NY and in the North Country. The Division oversees professional development programs, evening degrees, distance learning, and language support programs for international students along with WinterSession and Summer Sessions.
A new initiative, planned for downtown Syracuse, will serve as a location for customized and contract training, graduate courses in selected disciplines, and other SUNY Oswego projects.
