The Department of Curriculum & Instruction at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Methods of Education.
Review Date: Review of applications will begin on January 4, 2010 and will continue until the position is filled.
Salary: Commensurate with rank and experience.
Date of Appointment: Fall 2010
Description of Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include teaching childhood undergraduate and graduate methodology courses, academic advisement, collaboration with regional public schools, and the possibility of teaching secondary level methodology courses.
Required Qualifications: ABD with completion of degree in Curriculum and Instruction or related area expected within the first year of appointment; public school experience; and commitment to promote students’ ability to succeed in a multicultural and global community.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Curriculum & Instruction or related area. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in methods of teaching social studies or foreign languages. In addition, a candidate’s professional emphasis on teaching for social justice, interdisciplinary instruction, and the integration of technology in teaching and learning are highly desirable.
