Campus Concept Committee
Meeting Minutes: October 25, 1999

1. We will meet with Sara Varhus on November 1 or November 8 to discuss concerns about Arts and Sciences proposals and their status in the campus plan. There was a request that we address more consistently issues of pedagogy and academic programming, returning to the themes developed in our questionnaire of 1997-1998.

2. Concerns were expressed about the process involving the advanced technology classroom projects. Apparent consensus decisions seemed to have been modified or radically changed. There will be a meeting of the entire Steering Committee Tuesday October 26, 1999. A report will be made to the Concept Committee at its November 1 meeting.

3. The presentations of the Helpern plan were not particularly well attended. The decision was made to include as much as possible on the

Web site, in part to aid those who were unable to read the projected material.

4. Draft 2 of the campus center plan.

Part 2

It was decided that we consider the items in section 2 in the light of the building mission statement--to be posted on the list serve. Which items can be combined? The aim is to develop a sense of what makes this a figure.

Part 3

The committee will think about these proposed elements of the building, considering which are most important.
