Item 1: Tabled due to Jim Wassenaar not being able to review the work thus far.

Item 2: PBS/SCUP video conference "Creating Tomorrow's Learner-Centered Environments Today" will be available on October 22, 1998 at 12:30-2:30 PM in 34A Lanigan Hall. Print materials are available and will be circulated among the committee.

Item 3:  Discussion of the Oswegonian article and misconceptions among the campus community on the work of the concept committee. It was agreed that getting accurate information to the campus community should be a priority. In particular, members wanted to be clear about what decisions were and were not being made by the CCC. In particular, concern was expressed by members that it be understood that the decision to start the  School of Business program study was made before the CCC was convened.

We discussed the status of the program study and we decided we would like a report of  findings and alternatives to the location of the School of Business from the consultants when these are available.

Item 4: We discussed the initiation of  a construction contract to open Sheldon Hall. Possible uses of Sheldon Hall were discussed. Jerry pointed out that Sheldon is a B-2 (residential) occupancy and that some cash flow will have to be identified to convert it to its end use. Determining the "highest and best use" of Sheldon, along with other campus "zones" will be the task of the 5yr planning study that will be done with Helpern Architects.

The committee decided that we would like to have the opportunity to review and comment on proposals for the interim use of Sheldon, and also that we would like the opportunity to brainstorm about potential uses.
