Campus Concept Committee Minutes of 9/9/02
Present: King, Varhus, DeSantis, Hebblethwaite, Graci, Kaus, Whitfield, Camp
Recorder: Kaus
- Jerry supplied updates regarding the Campus Center and Swetman/Poucher. Both projects will move to schematic design by late October or early November. Also, questions were fielded regarding the use of Sheldon Hall during the transitional relocation plan.
- Problems and issues were raised concerning other campus projects. It was acknowledged that students were upset with the new parking scheme, and safety issues were brought up regarding crossing Route 104. It was suggested that lighting be placed between the outer and inner sets of entry doors to Mahar Hall (King). Problems with the Snygg corridor project were raised, especially with regard to poor lighting and bad classroom acoustics due to the failure to install drop ceilings (Graci).
- We need to consider the impact of campus construction projects in terms of such things as noise, fencing, and traffic flow.
- The new library cafe is proposed to be under construction summer, 2003.
- Future agenda items will include a review of any changes to the Swetman-Poucher and Campus Center relocation plan.
