Hello parents! Auxiliary Services designed this webpage in an effort to provide you with valuable information not only about employment with Auxiliary Services, but also other pertinent information you may find useful.
Student Employment
How does my son or daughter find work with Auxiliary Services?
Auxiliary Services employs over 500 students during the fall and spring semesters in our many operations which include the College Store, Accounting and Administration, Fallbrook, Resident Dining Services including Resident Dining Centers, ID and Dining, Commissary and Bakeshop, Cash Operations and Catering Services including Campus Center Food Court, Ontario Bagel Company, Campus Catering, Snygg Snacks, Wall Street Market and Lake Effect Café.
Students need to complete a student employee application for each area they are interested in (copies are acceptable if they want to apply to more than one area). In order to complete the application, students need to know their class schedule and list their availability for work on the application. Applications are available at our locations and can be downloaded from our student employment website: http://www.oswego.edu/administration/auxiliary_services/student_employment/
My son or daughter has been hired, what paperwork needs to be completed?
If this is the first time your son or daughter has been employed with Auxiliary Services, he/she will need to complete a tax packet which is provided by their manager. The packet includes both federal and state tax forms, as well as Form I-9. Additionally, these forms can be downloaded from our student employment site (address noted above).
Federal and State Withholding: We cannot advise your son or daughter how to claim. If they are unsure, we suggest they talk to you or a tax consultant. We need completed tax forms in order to process a paycheck.
Form I-9: This is a government form to show that a person is eligible to work. All employees are required to complete this in full. Acceptable forms of identification are listed on the back of the form, with typical documents being a passport or a picture ID (such as a driver’s license) AND a social security card or birth certificate.
When will my son or daughter get paid?
If completed tax forms are received in the Accounting Office by 4:00 p.m. on the Friday following a completed pay period, students will be paid on the next available pay date. A list of the pay periods and pay dates is provided in the tax packet and are also listed on our student website.
