Chemical Heritage Foundation - Research Travel Grants Program [07871] Synopsis: Travel grants of approximately $500 enable interested individuals to use research resources at the sponsor's facilities in Philadelphia, PA. These facilities house information on the history of the chemical and molecular sciences. Objectives: The sponsor provides support to enable interested individuals to make use of the research resources of the sponsor's facilities in Philadelphia, PA. Travel-grant recipients will have access to the collections of the Othmer Library of Chemical History. Researchers are also encouraged to use CHF's oral history collection and its collection of art, artifacts, archives and images.
American Physical Society - Travel Grants for Minority Speakers Program [07057] Synopsis: The sponsor will reimburse physics and/or science departments of U.S., Canadian and Mexican colleges and universities up to $500 for travel expenses for one minority colloquium speaker invited during the academic year. Invited minority speakers must be African-American, Native American or Hispanic, and should work in physics or a closely related field, such as astronomy. Objectives: The program is designed to increase the opportunity for minority physicists to give colloquium talks at colleges, universities and amongst general audiences. It also recognizes the speakers' scientific accomplishments and contributions, and allows them to serve as role models for minority undergraduates, graduate students and faculty.
American Physical Society - Travel Grants for Women Speakers Program [14600] Synopsis: The sponsor will reimburse U.S., Canadian, and Mexican colleges and universities up to $500 for travel expenses for one of two women colloquium speakers invited during the academic year. Invited speakers should be physicists or in a closely related field, such as astronomy. Objectives: The program is intended to expand the opportunity for physics departments to invite women colloquium/seminar speakers who can serve as role models for women undergraduates, graduate students and faculty. The program also recognizes the scientific accomplishment and contributions of these women physicists.
Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds - Travel Allowances [27413] Snyopsis: The sponsor awards travel allowances to PhD students and post-doctoral scientists of any nationality. European citizens are supported in Europe and overseas, non-European citizens are supported when working in Europe. Ph.D. students should not be older than thirty years and post-doctorate scientists should not be over thirty-two years at the time of application. Participation in conferences, symposia and workshops is not sponsored. Travel allowances are awarded for a maximum of three months. Objectives: The Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds awards travel allowances to both PhD students and post-doctoral scientists to enable these scientists to go to research laboratories of international repute in order to learn clearly defined methods useful for their own research work and that of their research group at home. The Foundation only supports activities concerned with basic research and aimed at acquiring new scientific knowledge.
