AT&T Foundation - Education Grants Program [01602]
Synopsis: The sponsor supports K-12 and higher education. Accredited public and private elementary and secondary schools, accredited public and private two- and four-year institutions of higher education, and educational nonprofit organizations are eligible for consideration.
Objectives: The sponsor supports initiatives that help students (especially nontraditional and underserved students) successfully complete high school and/or prepare for and gain access to college and successfully complete college; integrate technology into K–16 instruction and administration; develop community and civic leadership capacity; and encourage higher education technology-workforce development in areas such as computer science, information technology, math, science and engineering.
Funding priorities are: educational programs that develop community and civic leadership capacity; programs that help students successfully complete high school and/or prepare for and gain access to college (especially nontraditional and underserved students); programs that help students successfully complete college (especially nontraditional and underserved students); technology integration into K-16 instruction and administration; and higher education technology workforce development (e.g. Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, Science & Engineering).

Motorola Foundation [01697]
Synopsis: The sponsor focuses its funding on education, especially programs that support math and science teacher-training programs and charitable organizations that excite young people about these subjects.
Objectives: Through the foundation, the sponsor nurtures relationships with local, national and international non-profit organizations — to extend resources to communities in need and to help expand the scope of their missions. They support important causes in three ways: 1) Through cash donations; 2) Through product donations; and, 3) By enabling employees to participate in volunteer and charitable-giving programs.
The sponsor's strategic focus emphasizes the following:
Education: With programs that encourage an interest in science, technology, engineering and math — particularly among girls and the underserved minorities.
Connecting the unconnected: To help bring the transformative power of wireless communication to communities that might otherwise be overlooked.

Toyota USA Foundation [01797]
Synopsis: Support is provided to U.S. tax-exempt organizations, including colleges and universities, to improve the quality of K-12 education, with a primary interest in mathematics and science.
Objectives: The sponsor is committed to improving the quality of K-12 education by supporting innovative programs that improve the teaching and learning of mathematics and science. Education is the focus of Toyota's giving, with emphasis on primary and secondary schooling. In addition to funding national programs, the sponsor supports the social well-being of communities where it has major operations (California, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, New York and West Virginia). This includes assistance for Arts & Culture and Civic & Community Development.

Synopsis: The sponsor voluntarily aids and contributes to religious, charitable, scientific, literary, and educational uses and purposes, in New York, elsewhere in the United States and throughout the world.

Lumina Foundation for Education [68207]
Synopsis: The sponsor's mission is to expand access and success in postsecondary education. The sponsor addresses issues that affect access and attainment in postsecondary education in the United States; particularly among traditionally underserved student groups. Typically underserved student groups are eighteen to twenty-four year olds, as well as, adult students, who face barriers to an education by virtue of their income, preparation or family background.
Objectives: The sponsor supports the following types of endeavors, working diligently to ensure that all funded projects promote access, attainment and adult learning: Research to expand knowledge and improve practices that affect students' access and success in postsecondary education; innovative programs, guided by research, that present practical approaches to access and attainment among underserved students and adult learners; and, activities that enhance the impact of Lumina Foundation-funded research and programs, such as leadership development, communication, evaluation and public policy analysis. Convinced that society has an important stake in the success of all students, the sponsor also encourages eligible grant recipients to propose projects and activities that involve communities, families, and students in promoting educational access and success.

Spencer (W.L.S.) Foundation 
Synopsis: The sponsor's mission is to fund activities, anywhere in the world, which foster new ideas and innovative ideas in education.
Objectives: EDUCATION: the sponsor funds programs that are innovative and that motivate children to stay in school, do well academically and continue on in their education beyond high school (to college or other higher education opportunities).

Best Buy Children's Foundation [74029]
Synopsis: The sponsor contributes to a variety of organizations and programs that foster engaged, fun learning experiences for children through the use of interactive technology.

Biddle (Mary Duke) Foundation [85400]

Synopsis: The sponsor's primary purposes are to further and extend Mrs. Biddle's life-long interests in religious, educational, and charitable activities in the states of New York and North Carolina.

Synopsis: The sponsor provides support for programs that have significant impact on students and their educational environments. Priority is given to programs that assist students in making educational choices.
Objectices: The sponsor funds projects that meet the following objectives: To enhance the public understanding of the processes which positively affect the emotional and educational development of children; To encourage and support research on issues directly impacting children's ability to learn; and To disseminate the results of current research to educational consultants, counselors and school administrators to further develop an understanding of the students they serve.

Synopsis: The sponsor's scholarship is for teachers and educators to finance projects related to peace education, such as curriculum development, events, creative dramatics, or teacher training.
Objectives: Specific proposals related to the following themes, which target the objectives of Biosophy, are encouraged: Peace and/or character education; Policy that incorporates peace as a national priority, e.g. to establish a Department of Peace or Secretary of Peace, or to establish educational institutions devoted to peace studies; The philosophy of Spinoza, or other philosophers who are concerned with ethics; Studies of ethics, ethical behavior, or the application of ethics; and Theories of cooperation, e.g. friendship, pro-social behavior.

Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation [74030]
Synopsis: Support is provided to improve the communities the sponsor serves through support of public education, community improvement projects and home safety initiatives.
Objectives: The sponsor considers grant requests in the following areas:
Community Improvement: current focus areas are: projects providing broad benefit to Lowe’s communities, including park and neighborhood beautification and enhancement; building repair/renovation and landscaping enhancements of facilities serving the community; community garden, park, or playground projects; community clean-up initiatives; and outdoor learning environments such as educational gardening programs.
K-12 Public Education: current focus areas are: K-12 public school projects including construction and trades related education initiatives; clean-up, landscaping and painting projects; playground enhancements; and minor repair/renovation of public school buildings.
