AT&T Foundation - Community Development Grants Program [30249] Synopsis: Support is provided for comprehensive community development programs. Eligible applicants are non-profit, tax-exempt organizations. Objectives: The sponsor supports a variety of community development programs. The sponsor is especially interested in: programs that encourage small business development, entrepreneurship, and job creation, attraction and retention; programs that provide economic development opportunities in low-income areas, including community revitalization efforts, job training, etc; technology integration to strengthen nonprofits; community-driven technology outreach and infrastructure initiatives; and technology access/instruction for the underserved.
AT&T Wireless - Charitable Contributions [65322] Synopsis: The sponsor provides support for community-based programs and organizations that address educational, cultural, and social issues affecting the quality of life in the communities in which the sponsor's employees work and live. Eligible applicants are tax-exempt organizations. Objectives: Emphasis is given to: nurturing programs that inspire creativity in youth and adults, or that focus specifically on teaching/developing modes of expression; proposals that are project specific rather than requests to underwrite operating, capital, or endowment budgets; projects that stimulate partnerships among various organizations to work cooperatively and collaboratively for lasting solutions; and projects with well-defined goals and a clear picture of the need, with specific evaluation results.
American Sportfishing Association's (ASA) FishAmerica Foundation - Conservation Grants [72663] Synopsis: The sponsor provides funding for hands-on, action-oriented projects that have clear and identifiable benefits to sport fish populations and the sport of fishing. Objectives: The sponsor funds projects that directly enhance water quality, habitat and/or sport fish populations. Funds for non-labor costs are provided for the following: habitat improvement; streambank stabilization; aeration systems; fishing reefs; silt removal; planting of trees and vegetation; fish passage improvements (i.e., culvert removal/replacement, fish ladders installation/repair, dam removal); hatchery construction/renovation; stocking and rearing projects with long-term value; litter cleanups; jeavy equipment rental and operation (i.e., removal of silt from fishing ponds, construction of fish ladders and bypasses, demolition and removal of dams, placement of large wood).
Entergy Corporation - Open Grants Program [74314] Synopsis: The sponsor provides funding for programs designed to improve communities as a whole, in the areas of arts and culture, community improvement/enrichment, and healthy families. Objectives: Community Improvement/Enrichment: the sponsor supports community-based projects that focus community enrichment and improvement. A few examples include civic affairs, blighted housing improvements, and neighborhood safety.
Ford Foundation - Asset Building and Community Development [00159] Synopsis: Awards support people and organizations working to find solutions to problems of poverty and injustice. Activities supported by grants must be charitable, educational, or scientific, as defined under the appropriate provisions of the US IRS Code and Treasury Regulations. Objectives: The sponsor supports people who are building human, social, financial and environmental assets that enable people and communities to exert control over their lives and to participate in their societies in meaningful and effective ways. Grants support vibrant social movements, institutions and partnerships that analyze contemporary social and economic needs and devise responses to them. Program subtopics include: Economic Development, which involves development finance and economic security and workforce development; and Community & Resources Development, which includes environment and development, community development, and sexuality and reproductive health.
Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation [74030] Synopsis: Support is provided to improve the communities the sponsor serves through support of public education, community improvement projects and home safety initiatives. Objectives: The sponsor considers grant requests in the following areas: Community Improvement: current focus areas are: projects providing broad benefit to Lowe’s communities, including park and neighborhood beautification and enhancement; building repair/renovation and landscaping enhancements of facilities serving the community; community garden, park, or playground projects; community clean-up initiatives; and outdoor learning environments such as educational gardening programs. K-12 Public Education: current focus areas are: K-12 public school projects including construction and trades related education initiatives; clean-up, landscaping and painting projects; playground enhancements; and minor repair/renovation of public school buildings.
