IGE Committees
IGE Scholars Committee
The purpose of this Institute for Global Engagement Committee will be to promote scholarly and creative activities related to international/ intercultural issues and global engagement. The committee will help to oversee the faculty collaborations website, to expand international collaborations, to organize regular scholar brown bags and speakers series and may consider launching an on-line journal or a larger conference. Members are part of the Institute for Global Engagement and the committee chair is part of the IGE Coordinating Board.
IGE Curriculum Committee
The purpose of this Institute for Global Engagement committee will be to promote internationalization of the curriculum, including the creation of new types of study abroad or international courses or more local opportunities for international and intercultural development. Its activities will include working with CELT and COLT on planning professional development workshops for curriculum innovations. Members are part of the Institute for Global Engagement and the committee chair is part of the IGE Coordinating Board.
IGE Student Fulbright and International Awards Mentoring Committee
The purpose of this Institute for Global Engagement committee is to help promote student Fulbright and similar awards, to mentor students and to review student applications for campus support. Its activities will include helping to create this new program and to provide advice and encouragement to students. Members are part of the Institute for Global Engagement and the committee chair is part of the IGE Coordinating Board.
IGE Visiting Scholars Committee
The purpose of this Institute for Global Engagement committee will be to help build interactions and collaborations between visiting scholars and domestic students and scholars. The committee will propose and help organize periodic events designed to promote interactions, including activities such as potlucks, receptions, and discussion groups. Members are part of the Institute for Global Engagement and the committee chair is part of the IGE Coordinating Board.
This committee discusses the experiences of international students on our campus and helps to plan ways for improving that experience. The committee may undertake projects in collaboration with OIEP to work with international students on the campus. The Committee Chair serves on the Coordinating Board of the Institute for Global Engagement and keeps committee members informed about Institute business.
