SUNY Oswego offers a wide range of international programs. Our goal is to expand multicultural and international understanding for students, faculty and staff. These programs are described below with links to their web pages.
Office of International Education and Programs (OIEP)
OIEP supports the international activities of the college's academic departments and works to increase the number of international students attending Oswego and the number of American students studying abroad. The office is divided into three sections.
Overseas Academic Programs
Known as Study Abroad our program currently offers more than 30 study-abroad sites in 15 countries around the world. Study Abroad also offers international internships and teaching opportunities.
International Student and Scholar Services
This office provides incoming international students and faculty with information about immigration, health care, housing and other issues that facilitate their arrival on campus.
Quarter Courses with International Travel
Three credit quarter courses on history, geography and culture are offered during he academic year. Each is coupled with an overseas travel experience.
Global and International Studies
SUNY Oswego's Global and International Studies program offers students an multicultural program of study to develop the knowledge and skills appropriate to a world of deepening interconnections and interdependence across political, social, religious, and ethnic borders. It is Interdisciplinary major and minor that includes the Economics, History, Political Science and Modern Language Departments.
Language and International Trade
This interdisciplinary program is a major or minor in the Department of Modern Languages. It provides students with language skills, cultural information and an understanding of the fundamental business and economic concepts that are essential for those involved in management and marketing positions in firms that operate in the global economy.
International Business
The School of Business offers two ways to provide students with a set of managerial and interpersonal skills, which are necessary to successfully conduct international business. The International Business Concentration offers a three course international studies sequence in addition to the Business Administration degree requirements. Also, and international Business Minor is offered for business and non-business majors.
Hart Global Living and Learning Center
A residential community with live-in faculty and graduate student mentors that focuses on academic achievement and social responsibility in a global context.
