The mission of the Student Advisement is to support student learning and success, both academic and personal.  Learning is a primary focus for you during your stay here at SUNY Oswego, and we want you to maximize your potential for success. 

Our commitment to academic success begins from day one.  New Student Orientation helps you make the college connection by getting you off on the right foot.  It puts you in touch with an academic advisor, campus faculty, staff and fellow students, which will ease your transition to campus life.

Although you have the ultimate responsibility for shaping your future, your academic advisor will be there to assist you in identifying your academic and professional goals.  Together you and your advisor devise an action plan to help you achieve your goals.  Subsequent meetings help your advisor monitor your progress in attaining your goals.

Our staff is available to assist incoming freshman, students in transition, as well as students in crisis.  Feel free to stop in or request an appointment.
