- Government- issued picture identification (e.g. driver's license, non-driver's license, Sheriff's I.D. or passport). This is critical because you will need this identification to conduct all college business and transactions.
- Medical Insurance card
- Medication and prescriptions
- Linens (pillow, blanket, towels, etc.). All SUNY Oswego residence hall mattresses require "extra-long" twin sheets (33 1/2" x 80" x 6 1/2 or 36" x 80" x 6 1/2") which can be purchased at JC Penney, Sears, Target, and WalMart.
- Clothing (suitable for both warm and cooler weather). Clothing that you can wear in layers is recommended because you will be in and out of air-conditioned environments.
- Jacket
- Umbrella
- Personal toiletries (soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoos, etc.)
- Laundry detergent
- Notebooks and general school supplies
- A thumb drive or USB
- Clothes hangers
- Alarm clock
- Swimsuit
- Spending money

- Bug Spray
- Laptop - only if you own one. Otherwise computers are available on campus.
- Scientific Calculator - only if you have one. Do not purchase one.
Do not bring:
- Car
- TV -There is a TV in the main lounge of the residence hall. If you have a TV, it is recommended that you wait until Fall to bring it to campus.
- Refrigerator -You can rent one here on campus.
