Service Learning
"Service Learning is a method of teaching that enriches learning by engaging students in meaningful service to their schools or communities through careful integration with academic curriculum." == National Service Learning Exchange.
Service learning is designed to illuminate and strengthen student learning. It provides a distinctive learning environment that allows students to reflect and integrate their service activities, newly acquired skills, and knowledge of real world settings into their academics. Students are not credited for their service, but for the demonstrated learning that comes from it.
Service Learning is integrated into select courses in which every student participates in service learning. If you are interested in service learning but are not enrolled in a service learning course, you may take service learning, GST 302 on your own.
