Mentor Oswego

Are you a college student looking to get some hands on experience working in the local schools? Are you planning on a career working with children in the future? Then Mentor Oswego is the program for you! With numerous sites ranging from elementary to high school, and transportation provided for most of our sites we want you to help our local youth. Please email Kelsey Bennett at Mentor@oswego.edu for more information on how you can get started!

Adopt - A- Grandparent
Adopt-a-grandparent is a student run program that visits six local nursing homes five days a week on a rotational basis. This program is all about making a difference in people's lives and the elderly residents that we work with love the company of college students. Transportation is provided for students. GST 302
That's right, volunteer and get college credit for doing so. GST 302 is a one credit course designed to get students involved in volunteer opportunities. Commit to 20 hours of service throughout the semester, attend 3 discussions meeting, and reflect on your experience through writing assignments. Adopt-A-Grandparent
There are open spots available on Wednesday Nights to volunteer with Adopt-A-Grandparent. Participate in crafts and games with the local elderly and help make a difference. To sign up, please email Lynn Georgi and Leanne VanDyke at adoptagp@gmail.com.

Summer Service Scholars Internship Program

*All internships are with local nonprofits in New York's state capital
*Most interns qualify to receive one of two AmeriCorps awards used towards current tuition or existing student loans
*Students  participate in a seminar series that examines best practices in community development, the role of nonprofits in this process and focused reflection on the internship work that they are doing.

CASEpolooza

Cayuga and Seneca Hall are looking for volunteers! We are currently in the process of looking for volunteers for our annual CASEpolooza. This year our CASE event is set to take place on May 4th from the hours of 3-8pm with setup from 1-3 and tear down 8-10.

Harborfest 2012

Harborfest in an annual summer festival that takes place in Oswego! This year it will be July 26-29th.  This festival draws in 150,000 to 200,000 people and we need volunteers to make this event possible.
