The current Nature Education Programs are listed below. You can also view a printable PDF copy of the program brochure. To let us know you no longer require that the four seasonal brochures be mailed to you, call us at 315-312-7961 or check the box on the form when you mail in your registration.

Programs are announced quarterly. To register for a program or add your name to or remove it from the mailing list for brochures, print, fill out, and mail the registration form.

Fall 2008
Rice Creek Rambles
Saturdays 1:00 p.m. Sept. 6, 20, 27 ● Oct. 4, 18 ● Nov. 1, 15 ● Dec. 6
Celebrate the wonders of fall at Rice Creek. Animal tracks, leaf changes, and whatever else catches our attention will be the highlights of these naturalist led walks. Call the morning of the program to check on trail conditions.
An adult must accompany childern. Since program size is limited, we are not able to accommodate groups. There is no program fees for these walks.
Below Zero
Saturday, Sept. 13 ● 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Learn how to present hands-on activiites designed to introduce children to the environment during this workshop for K-12 teachers, home school educators, and youth leaders. You will participate in a variety of winter ecology activities with Dr. Diann Jackson, receive an educational activity book and other environmental education materials from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. Teachers can check with their districts about receiving in-service or professional development credit for this workshop. Please bring a mug and spoon for hot beverages.
Program size is limited and pre-registration is required before September 5. There is no fee for this program.
Spruce Grouse in the Adirondacks
Wednesday, October 1 ● 7:00 p.m.
In conjunction with Onondaga Audubon, Rice Creek will be the location for a special meeting and public program. The program will feature Angie Ross, Wildlife Biologist NYSDEC Region 6, discussing population trends of the endangered Spruce Grouse in the Adirondacks.
Pre-registration is not required and there is no fee for this program.
FeederWatch
Saturday, October 18 ● 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
