Living and Learning Centers

Under Oswego's learner-centered focus, living on campus can merge with opportunities for personal growth. Two residence halls – Johnson Hall, home of our First-Year Residential Experience, and Hart Hall, which hosts the Global Living and Learning Center – serve as innovative "learning laboratories" that emphasize this effort. The First-Year Residential Program fills the recently renovated Johnson Hall, offering new students opportunities to learn about the campus and themselves in a supportive environment. The lively atmosphere of Hart Hall, which focuses on global issues and cultures as well as community services, is often abuzz with presentations, meetings and other activities.

SUNY Oswego is now offering Living and Learning Communities for incoming first-year students as part of the FirstChoice Academic Experience. Living and learning communities offer first-year students new experiences, both social and academic, by providing opportunities to meet faculty and students who share their interests. Students who participate in a living and learning community will take three courses integrated around a specific theme.
