In any journey, the first step is the most important. Because we want the first step at Oswego to lead you down the road to success, we have developed a variety of first year programs. Orientation welcomes you with fun, family-friendly sessions that serve as a "how-to" manual of starting at college. The FirstChoice program provides a menu of course offerings that will help you transition to the responsibilities of being a college student. Our First Year Residential Experience  presents an environment that shows approximately 240 of our incoming freshmen how to make the most of their college years. First Year Advisement offers sound advice from the start as you pursue your degree.

Our innovative programs have won awards and served as models for other institutions. More importantly, they have helped thousands of Oswego students find the right start on their paths to success!
