I'm not from the area, is there any places to stay, perhaps with a discount?

YES! We've set up a special rate of $70 a night at the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Riverfront, an excellent hotel right on the scenic Oswego River, some rooms with a view of Lake Ontario. The hotel also offers a Steamers Restaurant and Bar which, perhaps most importantly, will be where the Saturday night jam session will be held.

Rooms are being held until October 20, 2008. To receive the special rate, contact the EconoLodge Riverfront Hotel at 315-343-1600, be sure to mention the Guitar Symposium while making your reservation. 

Make reservations early as the Econo Lodge is a popular hotel and tends to book up early. Other options in the area include the Scottish Inn (near the campus), King Arthur's Suites (loft-like suites above a brewpub), and the Best Western Captain's Quarters (right next door the the Econo Lodge).

Can I bring my guitar to the Guitar Symposium!

Yes, absolutely! Please! The more the merrier. Many workshops and clinics are, in fact, hands-on, best to have your hands on the neck of your guitar during them, beats taking notes.

Will you have loaner guitars available if I forget to bring mine?

No. Sadly you'll have to bring your own guitar, or borrow a buddy's guitar.

What if I break strings and forgot to bring my own?

The good news is D'Addario is sponsoring the Guitar Symposium and we will most likely be giving you strings in a goodie bag during the reservations, the bad news is we may not have extras. So, in short, bring your own.

Are refreshments served?

Only at the opening reception. There's various vending machines on campus for soda and snacks, as well as dining areas available for lunch or dinner. The small city of Oswego also boasts a diverse range of eateries and cafes, though during the weekend there'll be much to do and not much time to explore the city during the day. It may be best if you're the type that needs constant food replenishment to bring your own snacks for between shows and workshops.
