Opera’s ultimate story of fatal attraction. The smoldering gypsy, Carmen, is foresworn to freedom: she can be embraced, but never possessed. The earnest soldier, Don Jose, mistakes a casual dalliance for true love, finds himself forced to abandon all he holds dear, and self-destructs in torrents of jealousy and obsession. Carmen is an unforgettable drama, set to Bizet’s thrillingly colorful score, infused with fiery Spanish-influenced melodies, pulsating rhythms and a powerhouse lineup of hit tunes.
