Doug McMonagle is the
Northeast regional director for Inergize Digital Media, a division of Clear
Channel Broadcasting that helps TV stations transition their operations
into the age of the Web and multimedia.
His 30 years of media experience include working in the radio, cable
television, broadcast TV and interactive industries. Over the course of his
career, he has experienced numerous changes in the media world.
He has held positions of responsibility from general manager to account
executive, but has spent most of his time as a sales manager of one kind or
another. The University of Minnesota graduate began in radio
in the mid 1970s. He then moved into the fledgling cable TV industry
where he helped create one of the first "hard" interconnects in the country and
one of the earliest regional sports networks (Midwest Sports Network) while
working for WCCO's Midwest Broadcasting Inc.
His experience in television occurred when many changes unfolded,
including the impact of UHF signals, cable TV and the Internet. Five years ago
he joined Clear Channel Television's Interactive Division, which became
Inergize Digital Media in 2006. Inergize provides Web sites and sales support
for all Clear Channel TV stations as well as those owned by Scripps
Broadcasting, Four Points Broadcasting, Bay City TV and several others.
McMonagle serves on the TVB Multi Platform Committee and, for the last two
years, has been on the the Editors' and Publishers' Association's Judging
Panel for Internet sites.
