Program Information

The study of modern languages, literatures and cultures is especially important in a global society, as it helps emphasize similarities and improve communication between people and nations. Oswego's Department of Languages and Literatures, one of the largest in the SUNY system, offers major and minor programs in French, German and Spanish, and additional minors in Italian and Russian. Learning takes place in small classes of around 20 students, led by faculty who encourage active use of your chosen language. In our new multimedia lab, the latest equipment enables you and your professors to interact using advanced technology that enhances learning.
