In studying how individuals and societies use scarce resources to satisfy their wants and needs, our major in Economics addresses production, consumption, saving and investment under various social and economic conditions, and how our choices affect the quality of life for present and future generations. Our goal is to give you a firm grounding in modern economic theory, provide a basic understanding of the U.S. and world economies, and develop your capacity for quantitative research and independent thought.
