Universite de Paris                                                       MICEFA

MICEFA is an acronym for Mission Inter-Universitaire de Coordination des Echanges Franco-Américains, which represents 15 campuses of the Université de Paris. A complete list of member campuses can be found on the MICEFA Web site: http://www.micefa.org.

The Program

Paris 9 - Dauphine         Campus life

The SUNY - MICEFA exchange program gives students the unique opportunity to study at one of the world’s great universities as a directly-enrolled student. Students accepted by MICEFA will study at one of the Université de Paris’s campuses alongside French students and other international students from many countries.

Students with any major may participate in the program because MICEFA offers a rich opportunity for students to study a variety of fields, from anthropology to zoology. French language majors will find a large selection of language and literature courses available to them as well as courses in business, communications and law. Undergraduate and graduate students may apply.

The program is open to students with an intermediate to advanced level of French. There is some flexibility for students in terms of their language preparation, because several campuses of the Université de Paris offer the possibility of studying French as a foreign language while taking a partial program of content-area courses in French. Students may also take courses at the Sorbonne’s Cours Internationaux along with a limited number of MICEFA courses, if they need the additional language training.

Teaching Positions

MICEFA program students have the opportunity to teach English in French high schools and elementary schools. Candidates must be between the ages of 20 and 29, native English speakers, and be able to work effectively with students. A substantial salary (approximately 900 euros per month) and health insurance are included. Applications for this opportunity are separate from the study abroad application and are due by January 15th for the following fall semester.

Program Dates
