The Film School

Located in Paris, EICAR (École Internationale de Création Audiovisuelle et de Réalisation) is dedicated to providing its students with a well-rounded, original, and artistic background.

The Program

The program offers a combination of learning the mechanics of film as well as exploring the creative aspect of this subject. Selected courses will include the opportunity to produce a short film using EICAR’s state of the art production facilities in Paris. Courses include:

  • actor direction,
  • analysis of the language of visual images,
  • cinema,
  • computing,
  • editing,
  • lighting and camera work,
  • post production,
  • sound,
  • writing and storyboard, and
  • post production techniques.
Admission Requirements

Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and typically will have some knowledge of French. A full curriculum in English is available for those with no, or limited, French language skills.

Program Dates                                           
  • Fall - early October - mid December
  • Spring - early January - early July
Housing                                                       Cherbourg Campus

Paris - Students riside independently in apartments or shared housing.  There is no on-campus housing in Paris, however EICAR staff will assist with choosing independent housing.  Students will be provided with a listing of agencies and Web sites that have proven helpful.
