Summer Business and Language Studies in Nice, France

The University                     

The University of Nice - Sophia Antipolis has made a commitment to international cooperation, with 17% of its student body being international. It is also one of the largest multi-disciplinary universities in France and offers the opportunity to acquire skills and qualifications in a pleasant, stimulating environment, the Mediterranean city of Nice.

The Programs                           Univ. of Nice programs

French Language, Literature, and Civilization - this four-week program provides 20 hours per week of small group instruction in the French language, as well as literature and civilization. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels of language are offered. Teaching is oriented toward the acquisition or improvement of oral and written French, with language learning closely linked to study of culture. Advanced technological approaches to language learning are used.

Business and Intercultural Studies -this four-week program includes courses in:

  • European Economic Environment
  • French Culture and Civilization 
  • Corporate Governance

Site visits to business organizations are included. Students will take two courses. All courses are taught in English.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must be enrolled at a college or university and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Acceptance is based on the student’s academic standing, recommendations, and personal study statement.

The Nice summer program is directed by Dr. Mahnaz Behroun

Orientation and Excursions

Students will be met at the Nice airport or train station by the overseas program director.  She will provide an orientation to Nice and the program, housing placement, and optional weekend excursions to sites such as: Cannes, San Remo (Italy), and Monaco.

Housing and Meals

Housing and lunch (during class days) will be provided by the program.  Students will be responsible for the remainder of their meals. Housing is provided in either shared apartments or host families.
