Japan, located in the Northwest Pacific Ocean east of mainland Asia, is made up of four main islands and thousands of smaller ones, forming an archipelago stretching almost 2000 miles.The “Land of the Rising Sun” is comprised of over 3000 islands most of which are mountainous and many volcanic, including Mt. Fuji, Japan’s highest peak.
