Program Description
The English for Academic Purposes program is specifically designed for ESL undergraduate and graduate students as well as exchange students who are required to or desirous of improving and developing their academic English language proficiency. Each course is a three-credit course and each course counts as a general elective towards graduation in most undergraduate majors.

For undergraduate degree programs, students require minimum TOEFL scores of 550 on the Paper Based Test (PBT), 213 on the Computer Based Test (CBT), or 80 on the internet Based Test (iBT) or 6.5 on the IELTS to register for courses in their major in the fall or spring semester.
Students with TOEFL scores between 540-547 (PBT) 207-210 (CBT) or 76-78 (iBT) or IELTS bands 6.0 will be registered into credit courses in the Summer Intensive English Program to improve and develop their academic English language skills. Upon completion of the Summer Intensive English Program, students with TOEFL scores below 550 (PBT) or IELTS below 6.5 will be registered into two English for Academic Purposes courses that count as Arts and Science electives towards graduation.
MBA Program
Students interested in the graduate MBA degree will be required to submit GMAT verbal and written scores as well as minimum IELTS (6.5) or TOEFL (83iBT). Applicants with TOEFL scores of 550 -553 (PBT) 213-217 (CBT) or 79-82(iBT) or IELTS bands 6.0 may be considered for conditional admission into the fall semester. Conditionally admitted students will be required to enroll into the Summer Intensive English program. Depending on their level of English proficiency upon completion of the Summer Intensive English Program, students may be required to register into courses within the English for Academic Purposes Program, currently offered in the fall semester.
