"I couldn't be happier that I came to study in London.  I was lucky to travel frequently on weekends and still take classes that count towards my degree, while also taking part in an internship that is hard to come by in London.  I learned to value and appreciate the opportunities I've had in both the United States and the United Kingdom, as I was surprised to discover work experience opportunities in the UK are hard to come by.  My perspectives gained on the NHS while interning at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust will prove invaluable when applying for doctorate or Masters in Public Health programs.  Through living without Wal-Mart, living with six roommates, depending on public transport, traveling to foreign countires and simply reading the Metro, I have now gained an international awareness that will forever set me apart from my fellow American peers who have not studies abroad."  - Kimberly M Buchner

Jen Pufky and Deputy Prime Minister

Mary, I had to drop you an e-mail. My internship is going so well! They are giving me loads of wonderful projects. I'm writing and distributing press releases, working on their website, writing political briefs, setting up guests for their political shows and last night I participated in one of their party events. It has been such an enlightening experience. I was even able to have my photo taken with the Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott. I've attached a photo if you interested. CAPA has organized a trip to Scotland for this weekend. I'm extremely excited for it! I'll be sure to keep in touch! Best, Jen

My experience in London was absolutely fantastic! First and most importantly, Oswego's study abroad staff made the application process very manageable. Gearing up for the trip, I had many questions and the Oswego staff (specifically Mary Kerr) answered them all patiently. The Oswego and CAPA staffs in London were also helpful. I was very happy with my living accommodations and the roommates I was assigned. I couldn't believe the location of the Knightsbridge apartments! The Knightsbridge tube stop was literally a two minute walk away, Hyde Park was across the street, and Harrod's around the corner! Of course all this makes someone curious about the price of living in such an area- well it wasn't cheap! My solution is to budget, budget, budget! I planned what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go that semester in the first two weeks I arrived in London. Also, I left all my personal shopping until the last month. Personally, I had an unbelievable time that I wouldn't trade for anything! I only wish I could have spent the entire year there!
