"I fell in love with Spain. Pedro, the overseas director is the best program director, he is very helpful. I would love to do anything I can to encourage people to do this program." "I had an amazing language teacher, I learned a lot. The culture courses were hard to keep up with in the beginning, but as my Spanish got better - I learned more."

"Overall I had a great time and it was a wonderful experience. Pedro Guardia was a sweetheart and assisted the students whenever they were in trouble financially or emotionally. The teachers were really good and the courses were intense.

Studying in Barcelona has been a great experience. From living with my homestay family and expereincing the Spanish culture to learning the language at the University of Barcelona, this has been the best semester I have had.

I lived with a family in an apartment building. I had a host mother and host sister. I really liked them; they treated me like I was one of the family and included me in all of their family events.

I loved everything about Barcelona--the people, the food, the climate, the women, the parties. But most of all, I was able to complete my goal to become fluent in Spanish, and the teachers and professors at the Universitat de Barcelona helped me to attain that.

Barcelona is a fantastic city! There is an incredible amount of culture here - plenty of music and film festivals, fabulous art, and incredible architecture. Barcelona is alive and exciting but not overwhelming; it has quite easily become one of my favorite cities!

Dara chats with program director Dr. Pedro Guardia in front of the University of Barcelona library. The program is right at the University of Barcelona but has classes with students from all over the world. I have found that being involved with international students is much better than just being grouped with Americans - it forces you to speak Spanish more.

Pedro [Guardia], the director, is a wonderful man! He is very available and willing to help. It was important to me to have his support in sorting out the credits with my home university.

My Spanish has definitely improved here. Living with a family has really pushed me to speak the language - after all, they don't really speak any English!

Classes are a huge help too since they are all taught in Spanish. My vocabulary has increased and I have picked up a lot more than if they had been in English. Of course, sometimes just going to a bar and meeting different people is the best way to learn.

Overall, my time in Barcelona has been incredible. I have learned so much about the culture, the language, and myself as well. It's kind of a shame that it has to end!

I thought the length of the summer program [four weeks] was perfect for me. Barcelona was beautiful, and there was plenty to do. I did go to Madrid for a weekend, and I enjoyed that a lot. Overall, I had a great time!
