China is an ancient land occupying an enormous area of eastern Asia. Its population is currently over 1.3 billion people and is the world's largest. Chinese civilization is among the oldest in the world, stretching back about 3,600 years. today, China's economy is transforming and growing rapidly. While still a communist state controlled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), economic reforms begun in the late 1970s have led to a greater role for the private sector. today China is a major contributor to the global economy and an important country in which to study.
In January 2007, we signed six new academic partnerships with universities in China. Students now have the option of studying at Capital Normal University in Beijing; Shanghai Normal University in Shanghai; Zhejiang Gongshang University, Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, and Zhejiang University of Technology in Hanzhou; Wenzhou University in Wenzhou; and Wuhan University, Wuhan.
