Australia is the world's largest island and its smallest continent. It is a land of stark contrasts and, because of its protective isolation, has many species of plants and animals that can be found nowhere else on Earth. It is a multi-cultural society where differences are celebrated. Australia's culture varies from region to region, not unlike that of the United States. The two countries are almost the same size, but Australia's population is only 19 million as opposed to the 276 million of the US. This makes the contrast between Australia's vibrant metropolitan centers, mostly located along the coasts, and the rugged "outback" country of the interior even more dramatic. Admissions Requirements
