Expand your skill set to help children. SUNY Oswego’s Play Therapy certificate program is designed to give you an authentic learning experience in play therapy, while helping you develop the children-specific communication skills needed to meet the growing need for play therapy professionals.
Advance your career
A play therapy certificate will distinguish you in the mental health counseling field. As a graduate of this program, you will qualify to become Registered Play Therapists and/or Certified Child-Centered Play Therapists and Certified Child Psychotherapists through the Association for Play Therapy, National Institute for Relational Enhancement and Play Therapy International.
Learn outside the classroom
You will be able to practice your skills outside the classroom through internship opportunities. The faculty’s strong relationships with agencies and schools allow you to work with credentialed play therapists that can lead to more opportunities and future job placement.
