Master of Science & Post-Master's Advanced Certificate
SUNY Oswego’s Counseling Services and Psychology program will give you the knowledge, skills and experience for a career as a school counselor. Through this NCATE accredited program, you can earn a master’s degree, a post-master's advanced certificate or both.
Opportunities for real world experience

You will gain hands-on experience through a full-field internship, as well as an advanced practicum and consultation, with the choice to work in elementary through college school settings. As a graduate of the program, you will be eligible for provisional certification as a School Counselor in New York State.

MS and Post-Master's Advanced Certificate tracks

SUNY Oswego's program also offers a post-master's advanced certificate track for professionals who have already earned a master's degree but are interested in entering the counseling services field. Students entering the master's program can also earn this certificate at the same time, making them more marketable upon graduation.
