International students should only use the international application button found on this page. Your application will not be reviewed until we have received all of your application materials. After we have received all your materials, the materials will be sent to the department for review. The review process can take around 2-3 weeks.

Application Checklist:

Complete the online application: you will complete your entire application online. 

Pay the  $50 Application Fee

Two letters of Recommendation: The online application will ask you to submit the email addresses of two recommenders. Once the email addresses have been submitted, your references will receive an email instructing them how to submit a reference. You can check the status of this by logging into your online application. This must be sent separately from your other documents.

Official transcripts: copy of your transcripts sent from your university directly to SUNY Oswego. These must be sealed and sent by your university.

Financial documentation: a letter from the bank on bank letterhead with the bank's official signature and stamp evidencing sufficient funds for one year. If your financial support is from a sponsor (anyone other than yourself), your sponsor must fill out the affidavit. This must be sent separately from your other documents.

English Proficiency: your documented English language abilities may include national language, mother tongue, language of prior degree or secondary school study. Unless your undergraduate courses were taught in English, you will have to provide an official TOEFL 83iBT or IELTS 6.5. The score must be sent by ETS. SUNY Oswego's code is 2543.

GRE/GMAT score: test scores are required for certain programs. Check your program's page if you need a GRE/GMAT score. If they are required, they must be submitted by ETS. SUNY Oswego's code is 2543.

Original bank statement: Original bank statement with a bank official's signature and stamp evidencing sufficient funds for one year and if supported by a sponsor, a completed SUNY International Student Financial Statement signed and stamped by your sponsor's bank and sponsor.
