Graduate Council Minutes – September 28, 2007
Attendance: D. King, G. Klatsky, J. Mullen, B. Silky, J. Smith, D. Vanouse
1. Approval of Agenda: The Agenda was approved as presented.
2. Approval of Minutes: The minutes of May 11, 2007 were approved as written.
3. Graduate Dean Report: D. King reported on the following items:
· Licensure in Mental Health Counseling has been registered.
· Building Leadership & District Leadership remain separate certifications, but a new certification that includes them both has been established.
· MAT Math was approved by SUNY and SED this summer.
· MAT English is still being discussed following the outside reviewers report.
· More combined degrees BS/BA and MS are being sought.
· Festa Fellowship nominations are now being sought.
· Oswego received grant for the collaborative development of a Master of Science in Professional Science.
· An update on the progress of the search for the Assistant Dean was given.
· Four to five quarter courses for the Spring semester to be offered at the Metro Center are being sought.
· Graduate School Week is planned for October 26-30.
· The Graduate Office will be relocating to 606 Culkin that will provide it with more space.
· Currently enrollment data is being examined in order to put for a future enrollment plan.
4. Chair’s Report: D. Vanouse reported the following items at Faculty Assembly
· Chemistry MS revisions were reported at the Oct. 1 FA meeting
· CPS 587 was reported out.
5. Meeting Dates for Fall 2007: October 26; November 2, 16, 30; Dec. 7 if needed.
6. Recommendations from the Task Force on Professional Development will be on next agenda.
